Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wire EDM Operator Cum Programmer to operate and program an Electronic Tool Master 4S Wire EDM machine for the manufacture of precision graphite electrodes, tooling components, and related parts. The candidate will be responsible for CAD drawing interpretation, wire-cut programming using CAD Macro software, machine setup, operation, quality inspection, and process optimization to achieve high dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Programming & CAD/CAM Create and optimize Wire EDM programs using CAD/CAM macro software.
- Interpretation Interpret engineering drawings, 2D CAD files, DXF, and component specifications.
- Tool paths Generate tool paths and machining strategies for graphite electrode manufacturing.
- Troubleshooting Modify and troubleshoot existing programs to improve productivity and quality.
- Documentation Maintain program libraries and documentation.
- Machine Setup & Operation Set up and operate Electronic Tool Master 4S Wire EDM machine.
- Process Parameters Select appropriate machining parameters, wire type, flushing conditions, and cutting strategies.
- Machine Alignment Perform machine alignment, workpiece setting, and datum establishment.
- Production Monitoring Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Safety & SOPs Ensure safe machine operation and adherence to SOPs.
- Quality Control Inspect machined components using precision measuring instruments.
- Measurement & Verification Verify dimensions, tolerances, profiles, and surface finish requirements.




- Inspections Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Records Maintain quality records and inspection reports.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine machine maintenance and preventive checks.
- Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve programming, machine, and process-related issues.
- Coordination Coordinate with service engineers when major maintenance is required.
- 5S Maintain machine cleanliness and workplace organization (5S).
- Production Support Optimize cycle times and machining efficiency.
- Efficiency Minimize wire consumption and scrap generation.
- Continuous Improvement Support continuous improvement
- Collaboration Coordinate with design, CNC, EDM, and production teams.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 3 8 years of experience in Wire EDM programming and operation.
- Hands-on experience with Electronica, Sodick, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Makino, or equivalent Wire EDM machines.
- Experience in machining graphite parts, precision tooling, dies, molds, and intricate profiles.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T; requirements.

Technical Skills Must Have
- Wire EDM machine setup and operation.
- Wire EDM programming.




- CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD or equivalent).
- CAD Macro software experience for wire-cut programming.
- Understanding of EDM machining principles.
- Precision measurement techniques.

Preferred
- Graphite manufacturing experience.
- Tool room manufacturing background.
- Knowledge of CNC machining processes.
- Experience with DXF and CAD data conversion.

Quality & Measurement Skills
- Knowledge of: Vernier callipers, Micrometres, Height gauges & other measuring instruments
