Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement an engaging curriculum for various theatre classes, including acting, directing, playwriting, and technical theatre.
- Instruct students on the fundamentals of theatre techniques, improvisation, voice projection, and stage presence.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respect for others.
- Organize and direct school theatre productions, including selecting plays, casting roles, coordinating rehearsals, and managing technical aspects such as lighting, sound, and set design.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their performances and projects.
- Collaborate with other arts faculty and school staff to integrate theatre arts into interdisciplinary projects and events.
- Organize field trips, guest speakers, workshops, and other enrichment activities related to theatre arts.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents,



and colleagues regarding students' progress and participation in theatre activities.
- Stay current with trends and developments in theatre education and incorporate current methodologies and technologies into the curriculum as appropriate.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Teaching certification or license
- Previous teaching experience in theatre arts at the high school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of theatre history, dramatic literature, and various theatrical styles and techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Passion for working with high school students and fostering their artistic development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
