Job Purpose

The Store Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all store and warehouse operations at the BESS project site. The role ensures efficient receipt, storage, preservation, inventory control, and issuance of project materials, including batteries, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, structural materials, and consumables, while maintaining inventory accuracy and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

- Manage day-to-day site store operations for the BESS project.
- Ensure timely receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of materials as per project requirements.
- Maintain systematic storage practices for high-value and critical project materials.
- Ensure proper identification, tagging, stacking, and preservation of all materials.
- Maintain housekeeping and optimize warehouse space utilization.

Inventory Management

- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/SAP or the company's inventory management system.
- Conduct daily, monthly, and periodic physical stock verification.
- Reconcile physical stock with system inventory and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of consumables and critical materials.
- Control slow-moving, non-moving, and surplus inventory.

Material Coordination

- Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, QA/QC, Construction, and Project Planning teams.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for construction and commissioning activities.
- Prepare daily material issue reports and inventory status reports.
- Track material receipts against purchase orders and delivery schedules.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Receipt Reports (MRR), Issue Slips, Gate Passes, Stock Registers, and Material Transfer Notes.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, audit requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and stores.




- Maintain complete documentation for warranty and vendor-supplied materials.

Material Preservation

- Ensure proper handling and storage of batteries, electrical equipment, control panels, inverters, and other sensitive equipment as per OEM guidelines.
- Monitor storage conditions such as temperature, humidity, and safety requirements where applicable.
- Prevent material damage, deterioration, pilferage, and losses.

Safety

- Ensure compliance with EHS standards within the warehouse.
- Implement secure storage practices for hazardous and high-value materials.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections and toolbox talks for store personnel.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting equipment and emergency arrangements.

Team Management

- Supervise Store Keepers, Store Assistants, and contract manpower.
- Allocate daily work and monitor productivity.
- Train team members on inventory processes, ERP usage, and material handling practices.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 817 years of experience in project stores management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Solar, BESS, Power, Transmission, Substation, EPC, or Renewable Energy projects.
- Experience managing large-value project inventory at site is essential.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Experience with ERP/SAP inventory modules.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and material preservation.
- Knowledge of BESS equipment, electrical materials, transformers, switchgear, cables, and construction consumables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting.
- Strong coordination, planning, and communication skills.
- Leadership and team management capability.

Preferred Experience

- Experience working on BESS, Solar, Power Plant, or EPC projects.
- Familiarity with battery storage systems and OEM storage requirements.

Experience in project site warehouse setup and management.
