- Own backend architecture, API design, and service boundaries
- Build and scale the real-time multiplayer layer for team-oriented experiences
- Design and manage schemas, storage systems, migrations, and consistency models
- Architect authentication, permissions, workspaces, and multi-tenant systems
- Develop backend primitives that power AI features
- Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and code quality practices
- Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews
- Collaborate closely with AI and product teams to build scalable backend infrastructure
- Own and architect the backend for an AI-native collaborative design platform, building and scaling real-time multiplayer infrastructure, APIs, data systems, multi-tenant architecture, and AI-ready backend services
- This is a highly hands-on role requiring both architectural leadership and active coding in a TypeScript/Node
