CMM Operator Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspection and Measurement:

- Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment as per specifications and engineering drawings.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD models for measurement requirements.
- Measure complex geometries to ensure part conformity and precision.

2. Programming and Operation:

- Create, edit, and troubleshoot CMM programs (commonly in PC-DMIS, Poly works, Calypso, or similar software).
- Operate and maintain CMM equipment for efficient workflow.
- Conduct first article inspections and generate FAI reports.

3. Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Analyze measurement results and document deviations from specified tolerances.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure data accuracy.
- Communicate findings with quality, production, and engineering teams.

4. Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

- Perform regular calibration of CMM machines to maintain accuracy.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or issues.
- Ensure proper care and handling of inspection tools and gauges.

5. Compliance and Safety:





- Follow safety guidelines while operating machines and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent).

6. Continuous Improvement:

- Suggest and implement process improvements for inspection procedures.
- Collaborate with teams to resolve quality-related issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma
- At least 3-4 years of related experience within a CMM Machine operating & inspection.
- Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Poly works).
- Robust knowledge of GD&T; and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with CMM equipment and inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address inspection and quality issues.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies or processes.
