Role Summary:

The Assistant Manager Coding will be responsible for leading and managing a large team of Quality Analysts in the Inpatient coding space

The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, quality governance, and continuous improvement mindset to ensure delivery of high-quality outputs in line with client SLAs and organizational standards

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 40+ Quality Analysts (QAs)
- Build and sustain a high-performing team culture based on collaboration, accountability, and transparency

- Plan and manage QA capacity aligned with project requirements and business demand

- Assign work effectively, set clear timelines, and monitor deliverables

- Drive adherence to quality benchmarks and ensure compliance with client SLAs

- Implement and strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS)

- Track, analyze, and report team performance metrics on a regular basis





- Conduct random audits of auditors and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on audit findings

- Identify skill and knowledge gaps and design targeted development plans

- Collaborate with Quality Leads and Operations Managers to close gaps and improve outcomes

- Provide regular coaching, training, and mentoring to Quality Analysts

- Handle escalations, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive work setting

- Recognize and reward high performers to encourage motivation and retention

- Promote innovation, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Drive best practices and standardization across the quality function

Experience Required:

- 6+ years of experience in Medical Coding, with current role as Team Leader / Assistant Manager in Quality or Operations department

- Must have hands-on experience managing IP DRG specialty
