Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced OpenText Information Archive (IA) Specialist / Architect to lead enterprise archiving strategy, implementation, and governance. The role involves managing large-scale data archiving solutions across SAP and non-SAP environments, ensuring compliance, performance, and secure long-term data retention.

This position collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Compliance, and IT teams to drive data lifecycle management and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities 1. Enterprise Archiving Strategy & Governance

- Design and implement enterprise-wide archiving strategies using OpenText IA
- Define data retention, legal hold, and disposition policies
- Lead data lifecycle management initiatives across structured and unstructured data
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Governance teams
- Establish SLAs, RTO/RPO, and long-term data preservation frameworks

2. OpenText IA Architecture & Implementation

- Architect and deploy OpenText Information Archive solutions
- Design scalable archive infrastructure, storage tiers, and indexing strategies
- Configure archive schemas, retention rules, and ILM policies
- Implement WORM and compliant storage mechanisms
- Manage system upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery setups

3. SAP & Enterprise Integration

- Integrate OpenText IA with:
- SAP ECC
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP BW

- Configure SAP ILM and archive objects
- Support system decommissioning, carve-outs, and legacy archiving
- Ensure effective data retrieval and reporting from archives

4. Compliance & Legal Hold Management

- Implement compliance aligned with GDPR, SOX, HIPAA (if applicable)
- Configure and manage legal hold processes
- Ensure tamper-proof and immutable storage
- Support audits and regulatory inspections

5. Performance & Operations

- Monitor archive performance, indexing, and storage utilization
- Optimize data retrieval for large datasets




- Perform capacity planning and forecasting
- Lead root cause analysis and incident resolution
- Maintain system stability across DEV, QA, PROD, DR environments

6. Data Migration & Decommissioning

- Lead legacy system archiving and decommissioning projects
- Design ETL processes and data migration strategies
- Ensure data integrity and audit trail preservation
- Support M&A; and transformation initiatives

7. Security & Access Management

- Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Integrate with IAM/SSO systems
- Ensure data encryption (at rest & in transit)
- Secure sensitive data (PII, financial, healthcare)

8. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

- Act as SME for OpenText IA platform
- Coordinate with OpenText support and vendors
- Provide executive-level reporting on system health and compliance
- Mentor team members and deliver knowledge transfer

Required Skills & Expertise Core OpenText IA Expertise

- Strong hands-on experience with OpenText Information Archive (IA)
- Expertise in archive schemas, ILM, retention policies
- Knowledge of OpenText Archive Server & Content Server integrations
- Experience with WORM and compliant storage technologies

SAP Integration

- Experience integrating with:
- SAP ECC / S/4HANA / BW

- Strong knowledge of SAP ILM, archive objects, and data lifecycle policies
- Experience in SAP system decommissioning or carve-outs

Data Governance & Compliance

- Strong understanding of data retention regulations and governance
- Experience with GDPR, SOX, and compliance frameworks
- Expertise in legal hold and audit readiness

Database & Infrastructure

- Experience with Oracle / SQL Server databases
- Knowledge of storage architectures (SAN, NAS, cloud)
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery
