Role Overview

Seeking a hands-on Information/Cyber Security Consultant to stabilize, enhance, and operationalize security capabilities across SOC, identity, endpoint, and data protection domains.

This role is focused on rapid assessment, execution, and measurable improvements in incident response, SIEM, EDR, and DLP controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and enterprise security standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong execution capability, quick onboarding ability, and experience working in regulated environments (BFSI/Insurance preferred).

Key Responsibilities (Outcome-Focused)

Incident Response & SOC Optimization

Lead incident response coordination SOCs, improving response effectiveness

Review and enhance incident response plans, playbooks, and workflows

Drive faster detection, containment, and recovery of security incidents

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective controls

Threat Detection & SIEM/EDR Enablement

Perform SIEM use-case tuning and optimization to reduce noise and improve detection quality

Integrate and fine-tune EDR monitoring and response mechanisms

Develop high-value detection use cases for identity threats, endpoint attacks, and anomalies

Strengthen threat hunting and vulnerability assessment practices

Endpoint & Platform Security (EDR, Tanium)

Stabilize and optimize EDR deployment, alerting, and response processes

Lead Tanium implementation/optimization for visibility, patching,



and compliance

Improve endpoint security posture and monitoring coverage

DLP Governance

Review and enhance DLP controls and monitoring mechanisms

Define quick-win data protection strategies aligned with regulatory requirements

Improve incident detection and response for data loss scenarios

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Align security controls with DPDP, ISO 27001, and enterprise ISMS requirements

Conduct focused risk assessments and remediation tracking

Define KPIs and dashboards for measuring security effectiveness

Required Skills & Experience

Core Expertise

Solid hands-on experience in:

o Incident Response & SOC operations

o SIEM (ArcSight) & EDR

o DLP and endpoint security tools

Good understanding of network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, encryption)

Security Tools & Platforms

SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Tanium, DLP

Vulnerability tools

Identity & endpoint security platforms

Experience & Qualifications

8 12 years of cybersecurity experience (hands-on + leadership exposure)

Experience in BFSI / Insurance environments preferred

Proven track record in short-term transformations or consulting engagements
