Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Assistant Category Manager - Home to support the development and growth of the Home category. The role involves assisting in category planning, vendor management, product assortment, pricing, promotions, inventory optimization, and sales performance analysis to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities

Category Planning & Management

- Support the Category Manager in developing and executing category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share.
- Assist in managing product assortments across Home categories such as furniture, home dcor, kitchenware, storage, bedding, bath, and home improvement products.
- Monitor category performance and recommend actions to improve sales and margins.

Product Selection & Assortment

- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings to identify product opportunities.
- Assist in product selection, range reviews, and new product introductions.
- Ensure the category assortment aligns with customer needs and business objectives.

Vendor & Supplier Management

- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding product availability, pricing, promotions, and deliveries.
- Support negotiations related to pricing, margins, promotional funding, and commercial terms.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Pricing & Promotions

- Assist in developing pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Plan and execute promotional activities, seasonal campaigns, and product launches.




- Monitor promotional performance and recommend improvements.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

- Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Monitor inventory performance, stock availability, and aging inventory.
- Support forecasting and replenishment planning to minimize stock-outs and overstock situations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

- Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and customer data to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare category performance reports and business reviews.
- Track key category metrics and provide actionable insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, operations, e-commerce, and supply chain teams.
- Support the execution of category-related initiatives across online and offline channels.
- Ensure product information and category content are accurate and up to date.

Required Skills

- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Understanding of retail merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.
- Knowledge of retail and e-commerce business models.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- 5 8 years of experience in category management, merchandising, buying, retail, or e-commerce.
- Experience in Home, Furniture, Home Dcor, Housewares, or Lifestyle categories is preferred.
