About the Role
The Pitch Architect is a key strategic and creative contributor responsible for developing compelling architectural concepts, spatial layouts, and presentation-ready pitch material for prospective clients. This role operates at the intersection of design strategy, storytelling, and client engagement - shaping the first impression of the company s design capabilities. In a quick-paced design & build environment at WeWork India, the Pitch Architect is expected to manage multiple pitch requests at once, produce rapid yet thoughtful design solutions, and translate client briefs into visually persuasive concepts. Success in this role requires blending creativity with speed, stakeholder coordination, and high-quality output irrespective of conversion, while continuously elevating the studio s proposal standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Pitch Development & Concept Creation
- Lead the design and development of pitch decks, architectural concept options, and spatial narratives for prospective clients.
- Interpret client briefs, RFPs, and site information to create innovative and functional design solutions.
- Produce rapid-turnaround conceptual layouts, zoning plans, and visual mock-ups tailored to different business requirements.
- Work closely with business development and design leadership to ensure pitches align with client expectations and organizational design language.
2. Layout Planning & Spatial Strategy
- Create multiple layout options per pitch, exploring varied spatial configurations, adjacencies, and design directions.
- Develop 2D plans, 3D visualization inputs, block diagrams, and design elements that help bring a concept to life.
- Ensure layouts are functional,
code-compliant (as applicable), and optimized for client use cases including workspace, retail, hospitality, or mixed-use environments.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, pre-construction, cost estimation, BD/sales, and project strategy teams to ensure cohesive pitch outputs.
- Collaborate with visualization/render teams to refine perspectives and ensure design intent is accurately communicated.
- Act as a central point of coordination for pitch-related inputs design assets, moodboards, imagery, case studies, and narratives.
4. Presentation & Storytelling
- Translate design concepts into clear, persuasive presentations that resonate with client decision-makers.
- Craft compelling narrative structures that communicate the why behind the design, the user experience, and the business value.
- Elevate the quality, consistency, and aesthetic of pitch decks and supporting Materials.
5. Workflow & Process Management
- Manage a high volume of pitch requests, often with compressed timelines and evolving requirements.
- Prioritize tasks efficiently to deliver multiple pitch packages simultaneously without compromising design quality.
- Maintain and update a library of design concepts, past pitch materials, and reusable assets for rapid turnaround.
- Standardize pitch guidelines, templates,
and layout conventions to enhance studio Efficiency.
6. Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Review all pitch materials for design accuracy, originality, and consistency before submission.
- Conduct post-pitch retros with BD and design teams to understand gaps, successes and opportunities for refinement.
- Stay updated with design trends, workplace strategies, material innovation, and spatial planning best practices.
Education and Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural concept design, spatial planning, or pre-sales design roles.
- Strong proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe
- Creative Suite, and presentation tools (PowerPoint etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent pitches with tight deadlines.
- Strong visual communication and storytelling skills.
- Excellent understanding of space planning principles and user-centric design.
- Experience in a design & build company, real estate firm, or architectural studio with high-volume pitch cycles.
- Knowledge of commercial interiors, workplace strategy, and international design benchmarks.
- Familiarity with cost drivers, buildability constraints, and pre-construction considerations.
- Experience coordinating with render artists and BD teams.
