Requirement of Packing Bags Procurement Professional, responsible for overseeing the procurement of packing bags for a Cement company. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of packing bags. The individual in this position plays a critical role in optimizing the inventory & Procurement of Packing bags, ensuring packaging quality, and supporting overall business objectives for hassle free dispatch of cement from respective manufacturing plants of the company.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement Planning:

Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for packing bags, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives. Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments to make informed procurement decisions. Order Planning and Allocation in system and issues work orders to suppliers.

1. Supplier Relationship Management:

Identify, assess, and manage relationships with packing bag suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements while ensuring product quality and delivery timelines. Market, Vendor and plant visits to be done for addressing issues and implementing SOP.

1. Cost Management:

Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process. Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.

1. Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain Packing bags quality standards Implement quality assurance measures throughout the procurement process and standard operating procedures.



Addressing issues regarding bag quality and analyzing their root cause analyses.

1. Vendor Performance Evaluation:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers and conduct regular performance evaluations. Address any performance issues and work with suppliers to continuously improve service and product quality.

1. Market Research:

Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to packing bags. New product development in packaging to bring out the cost down.

1. Logistics and Supply Chain Coordination:

Coordinate Collaborate with vendors and plant teams for smooth supply chain of packing bags to ensure seamless coordination in the procurement and delivery of packing bags.

1. Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the procurement of packing bags. Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions in peak and lean season and ensure sufficient inventory of bags at any given time for hassle free dispatch of cement bags for manufacturing units. Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

1. Reporting and Analysis:

Generate regular reports/MIS on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.

1. Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the Woven packaging industry or cement industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools especially SAP, ARIBA etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Solid hand in Microsoft excel and Powerpoint
