About the role
The Manager, Advocacy Communications, India leads Nutrition International s advocacy, partnerships and communications in India to strengthen its influence and visibility in line with the overall organizational vision and priorities at the country level.
Reporting to the Country Director and working closely with program teams as well as regional and global advocacy, communications and partnerships colleagues, the position translates evidence into compelling policy narratives, builds trusted relationships with government and strategic partners, and enhances Nutrition Internationals profile as a credible technical partner and thought leader in Indias nutrition ecosystem. In this role you will :
- Identify strategic policy windows and opportunities to influence nutrition policy, programming and implementation at national and state levels.
- Translate technical evidence into explicit policy recommendations, advocacy messages and strategic narratives for diverse audiences.
- Support the Country Director in building and sustaining high-level engagement with government, policymakers, development partners, technical institutions, private sector actors and professional networks and coalitions.
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies that strengthen Nutrition Internationals visibility and reputation in India.
- Lead the development of high-quality communications products including policy briefs, reports, impact stories, presentations, website content, newsletters, multimedia assets and knowledge products.
- Monitor traditional, digital and social media to identify emerging issues, opportunities and reputational risks, advising leadership and developing proactive crisis communications mechanisms, where appropriate.
- Develop and disseminate key messages, press releases, media briefs, blogs and opinion pieces and other external communication materials.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for organizational visibility through strategic participation in external events, policy dialogues and other initiatives.
- Provide strategic communications and advocacy advice to program and technical teams throughout program design and implementation.
- Strengthen internal capacity in advocacy and communications through training sessions and guidance.
- Coordinate with regional and global advocacy and communications colleagues to ensure alignment of messaging, campaigns and organizational priorities.

About you
You will have a Masters degree in Communications, Public Policy, International Development or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in advocacy, strategic communications, government relations, partnerships or external engagement within the development, public health or social impact sector.
A deep knowledge of the Indian policy landscape with exceptional communication and relationship building skills with core competency in government relations, policy advocacy, partnerships and strategic communications and outreach.
Demonstrated experience in building and managing strategic partnerships and successfully contributing to domestic resource mobilization and fundraising initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills with sound judgement and diplomacy when engaging senior stakeholders. High level of initiative and ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
Excellent written and spoken English and working knowledge of Hindi and/ or other Indian languages will be an asset.
