Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement qualified to manage the sourcing and procurement of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for formulation manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and inventory planning within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in handling APIs and working with domestic and international suppliers is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure APIs, excipients, and critical raw materials for pharmaceutical formulations.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified domestic and international API suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, R&D;, QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company procurement policies.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Conduct supplier audits and support vendor qualification in collaboration with QA and Regulatory teams.
- Track market trends, raw material pricing, and supply risks to optimize procurement strategies.
- Manage purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and resolve supply chain issues proactively.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing procurement costs and avoiding stock-outs.
- Handle import procurement activities,



including coordination with logistics, customs, and freight forwarders where applicable.
- Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, supplier performance reports, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Drive supplier relationship management and continuous improvement programs.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Materials Management is preferred.

Experience

- 410 years of procurement experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience in procurement of APIs for formulation manufacturing is mandatory.
- Experience with domestic and international sourcing is preferred.
- Exposure to regulated markets (USFDA, EU GMP, MHRA, WHO GMP, etc.) is an advantage.

- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple priorities.
