About the Role
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in enhancing the quality and accuracy of internal and external financial reporting. This position is part of the Financial Control, Regulatory Reporting & Taxation department and is responsible for ensuring compliance with Indian GAAP and Ind-AS standards applicable to banks. The role involves close collaboration with auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to support financial decision-making and maintain robust reporting practices.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reports in accordance with Indian GAAP and Ind-AS standards applicable to the banking sector.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, including the Cash Flow Statement and Notes to Accounts.
- Provide financial data for the compilation of the Annual Report, including sections such as Management Discussion & Analysis, Director's Report, and Corporate Governance.
- Support the drafting of notes for submission to the Audit Committee and Board on topics such as Related Party Transactions, Proposed Dividends, Suspense/Sundry Accounts, and Auditor Remuneration.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Bank's Significant Accounting Policies and related guidance notes for implementation across departments.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Statutory Auditors for audit requirements, including Limited Review, Statutory Audit, Branch Audits,
Internal Financial Control Audit, and IT Audit.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure timely submission of the Long Form Audit Report and compliance with RBI inspection requirements.
- Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements to support decision-making, including peer group comparisons.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Ind-AS guidelines such as Effective Interest Rate (EIR), Expected Credit Loss (ECL), Leases, and Investments.
- Provide hands-on support in the preparation of Ind-AS financial statements within the BFSI sector.
- Assist the Financial Reporting team with special projects, including General Ledger (GL) controls, monitoring, and account reviews.
What We Are Looking For
Education
- Bachelor's degree in commerce is required.
- Master's degree in business administration is preferred.
- Professional Qualification: CA (Chartered Accountant)
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of total work experience, preferably in financial reporting within the BFSI sector.
Skills and Attributes
- Robust understanding of Indian GAAP and Ind-AS standards.
- Experience in preparing financial statements and disclosures for banks.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to perform financial reviews and comparisons.
- Proficiency in handling special financial projects and GL account monitoring.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
