Job Description: A Senior Control & Automation Engineer for a power plant oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems like SCADA, DCS, and PLC. Key responsibilities include leading technical teams, managing projects, ensuring system reliability and performance, developing and troubleshooting control logic, and collaborating with other departments to meet operational goals. This role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and extensive experience in power plant controls, with skills in PLC and DCS platforms, SCADA, and HMI development. Key responsibilities

- System design and implementation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems, including PLC logic, DCS systems, SCADA, and HMI screens for power plant operations.
- Project management: Manage control system projects from conception to commissioning, including budget, timeline, resource allocation, and vendor coordination.
- Technical leadership: Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and lead technical teams to ensure consistent design practices and process improvements.
- Troubleshooting and optimization: Provide expert support for troubleshooting issues, identifying opportunities for system enhancements, and implementing optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including P&IDs;,



control narratives, logic diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as external vendors and consultants.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, such as PUWER and CE marking.

Qualifications and skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related engineering field. A master's degree is often preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in automation and controls, with significant time spent in industrial environments like power plants. Experience in power plant operations is a plus.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency with major PLC (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric) and DCS (e.g., Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, ABB) platforms.
- Strong experience with SCADA and HMI development software.
- Familiarity with instrumentation like sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
- Experience with data logging, historians, and SQL databases.

- Soft skills: Solid problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills are essential.
