Job Description: A Senior Electrician/Electrician in a steel manufacturing company installs, maintains, and repairs high-voltage, industrial electrical systems and machinery (induction furnaces, CCMs, overhead cranes). They focus on minimizing downtime through proactive preventative maintenance, troubleshooting PLC/AC/DC drives, and adhering to strict safety standards. Core Responsibilities & Duties

- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on motors, transformers, control panels, switchgear, and auxiliary units.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and fix complex electrical breakdowns in production machinery to prevent production bottlenecks.
- Installations: Install electrical equipment, wiring, and apparatus for new installations or upgrades.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) safety protocols, including grounding and earthing checks.
- PLC/System Control: Troubleshoot and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, automation controls, and sensors.




- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of work performed, electrical failures, and maintenance schedules.
- Supervision (Sr. Role): Lead, train, and mentor junior technicians, often acting as a shift in-charge.

Key Requirements

- Education: ITI/NCVT Certificate in Electrician trade (required), Diploma in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within a steel plant, ferro-alloy, or heavy manufacturing facility.
- Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of HT/LT systems, sub-station operations, motor controls, and PLC automation.

Specific Industrial Context

- Shift Work: Positions often require working on rotating shifts.
- Hazardous Setting: Requires working around furnaces, high heat, and heavy electrical loads.
