About the Role
The Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Imports plays a key role in supporting day‑to‑day ocean freight activities across import, export, and domestic transport operations. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the smooth, timely, and compliant movement of cargo while maintaining high service and operational standards. As the Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Imports , you will:
• Coordinate and manage ocean import shipments, including bookings and end‑to‑end cargo movement with carriers and partners.
• Prepare, process, and maintain shipping and customs documentation to ensure regulatory and maritime compliance.
• Track shipments using internal systems (e.g., CargoWise One) and communicate updates, delays, and changes to stakeholders.
• Arrange and coordinate local transport and warehouse activities for cargo pick‑up and delivery.
• Maintain accurate shipment records while supporting invoicing and basic cost entry as required.
• Provide administrative and operational support to ensure smooth workflow and customer responsiveness.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Hands‑on experience in ocean freight operations.
Working knowledge of customs processes and maritime regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with CargoWise One and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organisational capability with high attention to detail in daily tasks.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Team‑oriented, proactive, customer‑focused, and willing to learn across varied operational duties.
