Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IBM DB2 LUW Database Administrator to provide L3 production support, administration, and performance tuning for critical enterprise database environments. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of DB2 LUW databases.

Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Support
• Provide L3 level support for IBM DB2 LUW production and non-production environments.
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, alerts, and service requests within SLA.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch IBM DB2 LUW databases.
• Manage database instances, databases, and storage.
• Support migration and upgrade activities.
• Analyse and optimize database performance.
• Monitor resource utilization such as CPU, memory, and I/O.
• Implement query tuning and indexing strategies.
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform regular backup validation and restoration testing.
• Handle disaster recovery and high availability (HADR) configurations.
• Use monitoring tools and scripts for proactive alerting.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or other tools.
• Manage database users, roles, and privileges.




• Ensure compliance with security and audit standards.

Collaboration & Documentation
• Work with application teams, infrastructure, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Participate in on-call support and change management processes.

Preferred Skills
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of other databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• DB2 certification is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure On-Time Resolution And Quality Compliance Of Escalated Tickets And Incidents By Conducting Thorough Performance Tuning And Dba Analysis In The Db2 Z/Os Environment As Per The Agreed Sla.
2. Mentor Team Members And Administrators In Db2 Best Practices, Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (Sops), And Maintain Effective Documentation To Promote Knowledge Sharing Across The Team.
3. Validate Change Order Implementation Plans And Ensure Human Error Compliance While Actively Participating In Capacity Planning Efforts To Optimize Db2 System Performance.
4. Participate In Customer Meetings To Understand And Address Any Issues Faced, Ensuring Positive Feedback And High Customer Satisfaction Through Effective Communication And Problem-Solving.
5. Validate Analyses Such As Root Cause Analysis And Trend Analysis To Facilitate Informed Decision-Making And Present Performance Reports To Key Business Stakeholders.

Skill Requirements
1. Expert Knowledge In Db2 Systems & Dba With A Focus On Db2 Z/Os Performance Tuning.
2. Solid Analytical Skills And Proficiency In Incident Management And Escalation Resolution.
3. Excellent Communication Skills For Liaising With Stakeholders And Mentoring Team Members.
