Job Summary
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all health, safety, and environmental practices at construction sites to ensure a secure working workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors. The role involves conducting inspections, safety training, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with statutory safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure implementation of site safety policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
Monitor compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers and staff.
Prepare and maintain safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
Investigate accidents, incidents,
and near-miss cases and submit corrective action reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company safety standards.
Monitor work at height, excavation, lifting operations, scaffolding, and other high-risk activities.
Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and first-aid arrangements.
Ensure fire prevention measures and firefighting equipment are maintained and functional.
Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to promote a robust safety culture.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports for management review.
