Job Description: PowerShell and Python Developer

Role Overview
The PowerShell and Python Developer is responsible for designing, developing, automating, and maintaining scripts, tools, and solutions that support IT operations, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications. The role focuses on automation, system integration, monitoring, and efficiency improvement across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain PowerShell and Python scripts for automation and orchestration
• Automate routine IT operations, system administration, and monitoring tasks
• Integrate scripts with enterprise tools, APIs, and platforms (REST, JSON, XML)
• Develop automation for cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
• Create error handling, logging, and monitoring within scripts
• Optimize existing scripts for performance, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, Security, and Application teams
• Document scripts, workflows, and automation processes
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis

Technical Skills – PowerShell
• Strong expertise in PowerShell scripting and modules




• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC)
• Automation for Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Exchange
• Working knowledge of PowerShell Core (cross-platform)
• Experience with task scheduling and background jobs

Technical Skills – Python
• Strong proficiency in Python programming
• Experience with automation frameworks and libraries (requests, pandas, paramiko, boto3)
• API integration and data processing
• Writing reusable, modular, and testable Python code
• Experience with virtual environments and package management
• Basic knowledge of web frameworks or CLI tool development is a plus

DevOps & Automation Tools
• CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab
• Version control using Git
• Configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform – nice to have)
• Monitoring and observability tools integration
• Scripting for containerized and virtualized environments

Security & Compliance
• Implement secure coding and scripting practices
• Credential management and secrets handling
• Role-based access control and least privilege principles
• Audit logging and compliance automation

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–7 years of experience in scripting, automation, or DevOps roles
• Strong understanding of operating systems and networking concepts

• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Attention to detail and process orientation

Preferred Experience
• Enterprise IT operations or managed services setting
