Essential Qualifications: M. Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized university

Desirable experience: The selected candidate will have to work on the Mission Mode Project entitled “Specialty Chemicals for industrial applications”. The candidate will be working on execution of experiments at laboratory; sample characterization; data collection & interpretation; scale-up studies & process design.

Monthly Emoluments:

- Rs.31,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship OR GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.

(b) Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above.

Age: As on the date of interview i.e. 18/08/2026, maximum 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration: These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project (The project tenure is up to 31/03/2027. If the project tenure is extended, an extension may be granted accordingly). The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.





Interested candidates are requested to appear before the Selection Committee for interview /written test at CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, G. B. Marg, Bhavnagar-364002 (Gujarat) on 18/08/2026 at 09.15 AM.

You are requested to bring with you the application form completely filled up in all respects. The application form is enclosed alongwith the advertisement.

You are also requested to bring with you the following documents:

- Original Certificate(s), Mark sheet(s) (Degree/Diploma, etc.) of the educational qualifications and the certificate in support of the date of birth etc. mentioned by you in your application.

- GATE/NET Score Card, Validity of score, Seminar/Projects done in Masters course.

- Original Experience Certificates, Testimonials etc.

- The applicants employed in a Government/Semi-Government or Autonomous Organization should bring “No Objection Certificate” from present employer, otherwise will not be allowed to appear for the interview.

- The decision of Director, CSIR-CSMCRI in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview,

- The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.

- Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women categories shall be as per Government of India/CSIR instructions issued from time to time.

- In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attached accordingly.

- If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.

- Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience.
