Job Title: Commis II – Continental KitchenJob Summary

The Commis II – Continental is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Continental dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. The role supports the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and ensures efficient service during busy hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare mise en place for daily kitchen operations.
- Assist in preparing Continental dishes including soups, sauces, salads, pasta, grills, sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers.
- Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency.
- Ensure food is plated according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation at all times.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines.
- Minimize food wastage and report stock shortages to senior chefs.
- Properly store and label all food items.
- Assist with receiving and checking kitchen supplies.
- Work efficiently during service while maintaining quality standards.




- Support senior chefs with any additional kitchen duties as required.

Requirements

- 1–2 years of experience as a Commis II or similar role in a Continental kitchen.
- Basic knowledge of Continental cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Familiarity with grills, pasta, sauces, soups, and breakfast preparations.
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.
- Culinary diploma or hotel management qualification is preferred.
