John Saw Mill is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Salesman to drive in-store and counter sales of timber, wood, and related building materials at the Head Office. The candidate will be responsible for attending to walk-in and regular customers, understanding their requirements, recommending suitable products, explaining product specifications, pricing and availability, and ensuring a smooth purchase experience.

Freshers with a strong interest in sales and a willingness to learn about timber products, as well as experienced candidates with prior experience in timber, wood, plywood, hardware, building materials, or related industries, are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet and attend to customers at the counter/showroom promptly and professionally.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable timber and related products.
- Learn and explain different types of timber, wood grades, sizes, applications, specifications, pricing, and availability.
- Prepare quotations, bills, invoices, and other sales documentation accurately.
- Process customer payments and coordinate with the Accounts team when required.
- Negotiate prices within approved company limits and close sales.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
- Monitor stock availability and inform management about low-stock or fast-moving products.




- Coordinate with the warehouse/yard team for material selection, loading, dispatch, and delivery.
- Follow up with existing customers to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carpenters, contractors, builders, interior designers, and other trade customers.
- Achieve monthly sales targets set by management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales area.

Qualifications:

- Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Freshers: Graduates with a strong interest in sales and willingness to learn about timber, wood products, and building materials are encouraged to apply.
- Experienced candidates: 2–4 years of relevant experience in the timber industry, preferably in timber sales, saw mills, wood trading, or related building material businesses.
- Good knowledge of timber products, wood types, grades, sizes, applications, and pricing will be an added advantage.
- Strong customer-handling, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with billing or sales software.
- Valuable numerical skills for measurements, billing, pricing, and stock calculations.
- Willingness to work store/counter hours, including weekends, as required.
