Senior Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

Location: Keel Ayanambakkam, Chennai
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹75,000 per month

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations in a fast-paced food production environment. The successful candidate will oversee production planning, operational efficiency, quality compliance, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage end-to-end food production operations.
- Develop production plans to meet business and customer requirements.
- Monitor daily production performance and optimize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Supervise production supervisors and shop-floor teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce production losses.
- Monitor inventory utilization and support effective material planning.
- Review production reports, KPIs, and operational metrics to improve performance.




- Ensure equipment availability through preventive maintenance coordination.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and operational records.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8–15 years of experience in food manufacturing or production management.
- Proven experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety systems and manufacturing best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Hindi communication skills are an advantage.
