Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Chemist – Ready Mix Concrete (RMC)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Chemist to join our Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plant operations in Trichy. The QC Chemist is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and durability of our concrete production.

You will oversee the rigorous testing of raw materials and concrete batches, optimize mix designs to meet client specifications, and ensure strict compliance with Indian Standards (IS codes).

Key Responsibilities

* Raw Material Testing: Conduct chemical and physical tests on cement, aggregates (M-sand/River sand), fly ash, GGBS, admixtures, and water to ensure compliance with IS standards (e.g., IS 383, IS 2386).

* Concrete Testing: Perform routine tests on fresh and hardened concrete, including slump tests, workability, temperature, setting time, and compressive strength (cube testing at 3, 7, and 28 days).

* Mix Design & Optimization: Develop, trial, and optimize concrete mix designs (from M10 to M50+) to meet specific project requirements while advising plant staff on proper material selection and handling.

* Plant Coordination: Collaborate with plant engineers to monitor batching plant operations, calibrate testing equipment regularly, and troubleshoot any production issues to maintain high-quality output.

* Site Troubleshooting & Client Interaction: Visit client construction sites in and around Trichy to resolve workability or setting issues, address technical queries, and ensure customer satisfaction.

* Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of all lab tests,



material receipts, and daily quality checks. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and plant audit standards.

* Team Training: Provide training to plant operators on proper sampling, testing, and concrete handling best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Education: B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry OR Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

* Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a QC Chemist, QA/QC Engineer, or Lab Technician in a Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plant.

* Technical Skills:

* Strong expertise in concrete technology, lab testing, and quality management systems. * Thorough knowledge of relevant IS Codes (IS 456, IS 10262, IS 516, etc.).

* Proficiency in operating standard laboratory equipment (Compression Testing Machine, Slump Cone, Sieve Shakers, etc.).

* Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with the properties of local aggregates and materials in the Central Tamil Nadu region is highly preferred.

* Language: Fluency in Tamil (mandatory for site and operator coordination) and English.

* Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
