About the Role
We are seeking a Thermal Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize thermal management solutions for high-performance electronic and aerospace systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in heat transfer, thermal simulations, cooling technologies, and thermal validation to ensure reliable product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed thermal analysis of high-density electronic enclosures, power electronics, and aerospace systems.
- Conduct steady-state and transient thermal simulations using analytical and numerical methods.
- Develop thermal resistance networks and thermal models to predict system performance.
- Design and optimize cooling solutions, including forced-air, liquid cooling, cold plates, heat sinks, and hybrid cooling systems.
- Perform fan/blower selection, coolant loop design, and heat sink optimization.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, PCB layout, and systems engineering teams to minimize thermal stress and improve product reliability.
- Recommend PCB thermal management techniques, including thermal vias, copper pours, and hotspot mitigation.
- Support thermal testing, validation, and correlation of simulation results with experimental data.
- Participate in design reviews, product development, and continuous thermal performance improvements.
- Prepare engineering reports, design documentation,
and validation reports.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics.
- Experience with thermal simulation tools such as ANSYS Icepak, FloTHERM, STAR-CCM+, Simcenter Flotherm, or COMSOL.
- Knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and thermal analysis methodologies.
- Experience in thermal management of electronics, power systems, or aerospace components.
- Familiarity with heat sinks, cold plates, fans, liquid cooling systems, and thermal interface materials.
- Understanding of PCB thermal design and electronic packaging.
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and technical documentation skills.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in thermal analysis and thermal management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace, UAV, automotive, or power electronics products.
- Exposure to CFD simulations and thermal validation testing.
- Knowledge of scripting using Python or MATLAB is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with international thermal design and testing standards.
