Key Responsibilities1. Design & Development

- Design cable constructions as per customer requirements and applicable standards (IS, IEC, BS, UL, etc.) As per IS 694,1554 part 1, 7098 part 1 , Instrumentation cables etc
- Prepare technical datasheets, drawings, and BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Selection of conductor, insulation, shielding, armouring, and sheathing materials
- Modify designs for optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement
- Support new product development (NPD) and customization requests

2. Costing & Estimation

- Prepare detailed cost sheets for power cables, control cables, LT/HT cables, and special cables
- Calculate material consumption (copper/aluminium, polymers, steel tape, etc.)
- Evaluate conversion costs, overheads, wastage, and scrap factors
- Provide quotation support to marketing/sales team
- Analyze competitor pricing and market trends
- Maintain standard costing database and update regularly with RM price fluctuations

3. Technical Coordination

- Coordinate with production, purchase, QA/QC, and sales teams
- Resolve technical queries from customers and internal departments
- Support during customer approvals, tenders,



and technical submissions
- Work with suppliers for material specifications and alternatives

4. Standards & Compliance

- Ensure product compliance with national and international standards (IS/IEC/BS/UL)
- Maintain documentation for audits, certifications, and customer approvals
- Assist in type testing and product validation

5. Process Improvement

- Improve costing accuracy and design efficiency
- Develop tools/Excel models/ERP inputs for automation of costing
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

Key Skills Required

- Robust knowledge of cable manufacturing process (drawing, stranding, extrusion, armouring, etc.)
- Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, costing models)
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or industry ERP preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹52,000.00 per month
