Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL, cloud database platforms, Databricks Lakehouse architecture, and database modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, optimizing, and modernizing enterprise database platforms while supporting cloud-native data architectures.

This role requires a strong blend of database administration, cloud engineering, data platform expertise, and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will work on large-scale database modernization projects, implement high-performance data solutions, and support real-time data processing architectures using modern cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, manage, and optimize enterprise PostgreSQL database environments across cloud platforms.
- Perform database administration activities including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Support database modernization initiatives migrating traditional database platforms to cloud-native architectures.
- Design and manage PostgreSQL solutions on cloud platforms including:
- Azure Database for PostgreSQL
- AWS RDS PostgreSQL
- Google Cloud SQL
- Implement database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance best practices.
- Work with Databricks Lakehouse architecture and implement data platform solutions using the Medallion Framework (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Support data engineering teams with database design, optimization, and integration patterns.
- Develop and maintain data workflows using:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Databricks Workflows
- Apache Airflow
- Design and support real-time data processing solutions using Kafka and event streaming technologies.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues,



and implement optimization strategies.
- Develop automation scripts for database administration, monitoring, and operational activities.
- Implement CI/CD practices for database deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, incident resolution, and production support.
- Ensure data platforms meet scalability, reliability, availability, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, Cloud DBA, or Data Platform Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases in enterprise environments.
- Experience working with cloud database platforms and modernization projects.
- Strong understanding of database performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Databricks Lakehouse architecture and modern data platforms.
- Experience supporting ETL pipelines, workflows, and cloud integrations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
