Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and delivering timely solutions to maintain system reliability and performance in a dynamic environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Document and communicate findings and resolutions clearly to stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and improvement of support processes and best practices.
- Installation, configuration, Fixpak upgrade of DB2 LUW databases, DB2 Connect servers, Client machines.
- Daily health checks,



monitoring and act proactively to prevent any outages.

. Excellent hands-on experience with backup & restoration techniques.

- Hands-on experience in dealing with data refresh.
- Should be good in performance tuning for SQL query optimization, bufferpools, indexes etc.
- Administer production, QA, and development database environments.
- Execute database maintenance activities
- Configure and manage HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery).
- Troubleshoot database issues including locking, deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, and storage utilization.
- Support application deployments and database migrations.
- Perform capacity planning and database growth forecasting.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks.
- Implement database security, user management, and auditing.
- Participate in 24 7 on-call support and incident management.

Professional & Technical Skills:

- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM Db2.
- Solid knowledge of database management and troubleshooting techniques.
- IBM DB2 Certification
- Experience with TSA/Pacemaker clustering
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD
- Cloud database migration (AWS/Azure)

Additional Information:

- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in IBM Db2.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
