Dental Technician – Ceramic Layering (Ceramist)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Dental Ceramic Layering Technician (Ceramist) to join our dental laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ceramic layering, shade matching, contouring, staining, glazing, and finishing zirconia, lithium disilicate (E.max), and PFM restorations. The candidate should have a strong eye for aesthetics, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality restorations within production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform ceramic layering on zirconia, PFM, and lithium disilicate restorations.
- Build natural tooth anatomy, morphology, texture, and translucency.
- Carry out staining, glazing, contouring, polishing, and final finishing.
- Match shades accurately according to dentist prescriptions and shade guides.
- Inspect restorations for fit, occlusion, contacts, and aesthetics before dispatch.
- Collaborate with CAD/CAM designers and production teams to ensure case accuracy.
- Maintain quality standards and meet daily production deadlines.
- Handle remake cases and make necessary adjustments when required.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, safety standards,



and equipment maintenance procedures.

Required Skills

- Excellent ceramic layering and porcelain build-up skills.
- Solid understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, and smile aesthetics.
- Experience with zirconia, E.max, PFM, and implant restorations.
- Proficiency in staining, glazing, contouring, and polishing techniques.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Certification in Dental Technology is preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Ceramic Layering Technician in a dental laboratory.
- Experience with digital workflows and CAD/CAM restorations is an added advantage.

Preferred Experience

- Full-mouth rehabilitation cases.
- Implant-supported restorations.
- Cosmetic smile makeover restorations.
- Knowledge of Exocad or 3Shape workflows (preferred but not mandatory).
