Job Summary

The Proposal Engineer shall be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals for Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, and related environmental projects. The role involves understanding client requirements, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with internal teams, and submitting competitive proposals to customers.

Key ResponsibilitiesProposal & Tender Preparation

- Review customer enquiries, RFQs, and tender documents.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for WTP, STP, ETP, RO, UF, and related systems.
- Study specifications, BOQ, drawings, and project requirements.
- Prepare compliance statements and technical deviations.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotations and technical details.
- Prepare cost estimations and pricing sheets.

Technical Activities

- Prepare process descriptions and system configurations.
- Assist in equipment selection and sizing.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams for PFDs and GA drawings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.

Commercial Activities

- Prepare commercial terms and conditions.
- Analyze project costs and profitability.
- Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing.
- Maintain proposal records and documentation.

Customer Coordination





- Clarify technical queries with customers.
- Participate in technical discussions and meetings.
- Support the sales team during project acquisition.

Documentation & MIS

- Maintain proposal databases and tender trackers.
- Prepare periodic reports on proposal status.
- Ensure timely submission of bids and tenders.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Diploma holders with relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience

- Experience: 2–5 years (preferred)
- Experience in WTP, STP, ETP, RO, UF, DM Plants, or wastewater treatment projects is desirable.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Experience in tendering and proposal preparation.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Cost estimation and BOQ preparation skills.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
