Job Summary
1. Role Context
A global discrete manufacturing organization is executing a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation with 60+ custom Fiori applications across 12 workstreams, multiple user personas (buyers, production planners, shop floor operators, warehouse managers, quality engineers, finance controllers, trade compliance specialists, master data stewards, product engineers, and tax/compliance analysts), and a 100-app Fiori Space limit requiring multi-Space architecture. The program also leverages SAP BTP as the strategic extensibility platform — with Fiori apps deployed to both the ABAP front-end server and BTP (via SAP Build Work Zone, HTML5 Application Repository, and SAP Business Application Studio), requiring the lead to manage a hybrid deployment model across on-premise and cloud-hosted UI applications. This role owns the entire frontend experience layer — Fiori application development and maintenance across both ABAP and BTP deployment targets, UI5 component lifecycle, Fiori launchpad configuration, Spaces & Pages architecture, security role-to-app mapping, UX governance, performance optimization, and responsive design for both desktop and shop floor tablet use. The role works in close collaboration with the backend ABAP/RAP lead who provides the CDS views, OData services,



and RAP Business Objects that the Fiori apps consume.

2. Key Responsibilities
Fiori Application Development & Maintenance
Own and maintain 60+ custom Fiori applications — UI5 freestyle apps, Fiori Elements apps (List Report, Object Page, Overview Page, Analytical List Page), and custom tiles/cards
Develop new Fiori applications for gaps identified during SIT/UAT — particularly for processes currently handled by Z-transactions that need a up-to-date UI
Consume CDS views and OData V4 services built by the backend ABAP/RAP lead — ensuring clean separation between UI and business logic
Implement Fiori Elements annotations and extensions — leveraging standard floorplans with controlled custom extensions where standard patterns are insufficient
Build custom UI5 freestyle applications where Fiori Elements cannot meet UX requirements — particularly for complex manufacturing scenarios
Ensure all Fiori apps display meaningful, user-friendly error messages when backend BADIs block transactions — no technical dumps or cryptic error codes surfaced to business users
BTP-Based Fiori Development & Deployment
Develop and deploy Fiori applications on SAP BTP using SAP Business Application Studio — leveraging the HTML5 Application Repository for cloud-hosted UI apps that consume BTP-hosted backend services (CAP, RAP via BTP ABAP Environment,



or external APIs)
Build SAP Fiori apps for SAP Build Work Zone integration — developing UI5 apps and cu
