A team of Licensed Immigration Advisers and New Zealand Education Specialists provides end-to-end guidance on admissions, IELTS/PTE preparation, and student visa processes. Role Description This is a full time, on-site Student Counsellor role based in Surat. The Student Counsellor will meet with prospective students and families to understand educational goals, explain study options in New Zealand, and recommend suitable institutions and programs. Daily responsibilities include conducting individual counselling sessions, guiding students through application and documentation requirements, and coordinating with admissions and immigration teams to ensure timely processing. The role involves organizing and participating in information sessions, events, and seminars, as well as maintaining accurate records of student interactions in internal systems.
The Student Counsellor will also provide ongoing support on test preparation (IELTS/PTE), visa requirements, and pre-departure orientation, while upholding ethical, compliant, and student-centric counselling practices.
Qualifications
- Strong student counselling and guidance skills, with the ability to assess academic profiles, career goals, and program fit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear presentation, and relationship-building with students and families.
- Organizational and administrative abilities, such as managing documentation, maintaining accurate records, and handling multiple applications and deadlines.
- Knowledge of international education systems, preferably New Zealand institutions, programs, admission processes, and visa requirements.
- Comfort using digital tools and CRM or student management systems to track leads, follow-ups, and case progress.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in regional languages (e.g., Gujarati or Hindi) is an advantage for interacting with local students and parents.
- Prior experience in student counselling, overseas education consulting, or a related advisory role is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a background in education, psychology, counselling, or business is preferred.
- Ethical, detail-oriented, and proactive work approach, with the ability to collaborate in a team and meet performance targets.
