Role - Application Engineer

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a customer-facing and technically proficient Application Engineer to drive brand preference for Zebra's technology solutions among our partners and enterprise end-users. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our broader Sales and Sales Engineering teams, partners, and customers across India and the Sub-Continent region.

This role is ideal for technical professionals with a deep passion for mobile device software development who are excited to build applications, lead technical pre-sales engagements, contribute to developer communities, and work directly with engineering teams to design next-generation mobility tools.

Basic Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of using domain and solution knowledge to create competitive advantages.
- Specialized Exposure: Exposure to UHF RFID technology is highly preferred (minimum 6 months of hands-on experience).

Skills

- Software Development & Architecture: Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, Android Development, Embedded Programming, and modern languages such as Java, C#, C++, and Python.
- Integration Capabilities: Familiarity with integrating third-party services (REST APIs) and developer libraries (SDKs) into enterprise-grade applications.
- Data & Architecture: Comfortable working with data interchange formats (JSON, XML) and helping design the best application architectures for custom enterprise scenarios.
- Industry & Product Domain: Experience with enterprise mobility solutions, advanced data capture technologies (barcoding, scanning), and barcode/label printing solutions.
- Communication & Presentation: Ability to translate complex technical concepts and solutions into clear, understandable language for a variety of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.




- Continuous Learning & Adaptability: Willingness and capability to learn quickly on the go, comfortable seeking guidance, and possessing an advanced command of the English language.
- Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel as required to support business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Pre-Sales Technical Support: Act as an integral member of the technical pre-sales team to position Zebra's cutting-edge hardware and software products to large enterprise accounts.
- Technical Presentation Leadership: Lead comprehensive technical presentations for Sales, System Integrators, Product Engineers, Program Managers, and Business Partners concerning the deployment of enterprise mobile computing, advanced data capture, and label printing.
- Demonstration Setup: Install, configure, and lead solution and application demonstrations for key customers and strategic partners.
- Proof-of-Concept Development: Collaborate with other Sales Engineers and global Engineering departments to architect custom software solutions, developing functional proof-of-concepts (PoC) when required to solve complex customer challenges.
- Community & Event Engagement: Actively participate in Zebra's core technologies virtual teams and represent the company at both internal and external developer events (such as DroidCon or Zebra AppForum).
- Developer Advocacy: Promote Zebra's extensive portfolio of mobility tools and developer SDKs within external developer communities.
- Continuous Enablement: Attend regular technical, product, and sales enablement trainings to stay at the forefront of Zebra's technology evolution.
