Role Description The Plant Science Researcher will conduct experimental and applied research in plant biology, physiology, and related areas within JSS AHER's life sciences and health-related departments. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and performing laboratory and field experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to publications, presentations, and research proposals. The role involves maintaining accurate laboratory records, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines, and collaborating with faculty, research scholars,



and technical staff on ongoing projects. The researcher will also support mentoring of students, participate in seminars and workshops, and engage in interdisciplinary initiatives that connect plant science with health and environmental applications. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mysuru.
Funding: JSSAHER postdoctoral fellowship.
Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid Research and Research and Development (R&D;) skills, including the ability to design experiments, interpret results, and contribute to innovative project outcomes.
- Candidates should possess robust Laboratory Skills, such as handling plant samples, performing standard biochemical and molecular techniques, and adhering to laboratory safety and quality protocols.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, with proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, and critical evaluation of scientific literature.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear scientific writing, preparation of reports and manuscripts, and presentation of findings to academic and professional audiences.
- Relevant qualifications such as Ph.D. in Plant Science, Botany, Biotechnology, Agriculture, or a related field are preferred, along with familiarity with research ethics, collaborative work, and grant preparation.
