Skills Required:

Node.js, Angular, NestJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Azure SQL DB, CosmosDB, Azure PaaS (App Services, Service Bus, Function Apps, Logic Apps, etc), REST, Git / version control, basic understanding of CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code, Cursor or other AI-enabled IDEs / workflows.

About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in designing and building scalable software systems that solve complex business and technical challenges. In our Tankers business, we are actively modernising our portfolio of business applications that are at the heart of our operations, such as our business planning applications, our customer and partner portals, financial systems and our interfaces on top of our data and AI products. You will be a key player in driving our digital transformation and developing innovative systems that directly enhance our operations and customer experiences. Our software runs on shore, but also on our ships which introduce interesting technical challenges in terms of connectivity and availability. You will be part of a global business-led product team that operates with a DevOps mentality. It is a collaborative, diverse, fast-paced environment. The role is hands-on and requires autonomy, innovation, and collaboration, with a strong focus on clean, maintainable, and high-performance code.





You are also responsible for contributing to the overall architecture and strategy of technical systems, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring solutions are aligned with Stolt-Nielsens business and technical goals.

What Youll Do:

- Lead design, development, and deployment of software that meets business and technical requirements.
- Develop full-stack solutions using up-to-date frameworks and platforms.
- Contribute to system architecture, infrastructure design, and service-oriented approaches.
- Guide junior engineers and conduct peer reviews to maintain code quality.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless CI/CD integration and deployment automation.
- Drive innovation by recommending new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Document systems, APIs, infrastructure, and architecture decisions (C4 model).
- Take full ownership of deliverables, resolving complex challenges with innovative and reliable solutions.
- Perform additional duties and strategic projects as assigned.

What Youll Bring:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development and system design.
- Proven experience delivering scalable, reliable, and secure software in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with distributed systems, containerization technologies (such as Docker or Kubernetes), and microservices architectures.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile delivery.
- Strong analytical thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Must Have Skills:

- Nodejs, Express, Nestjs (TypeScript)
- Angular (TypeScript)
- Azure (PaaS components)
- GIT and basic understanding of CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (we use Azure DevOps)
