We are looking for an experienced Manager – Pharma Sourcing to lead sourcing and procurement activities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), pharmaceutical intermediates, and active ingredients for our non-manufacturing export business for our client which was founded in Mumbai in 1991, the company is a global supplier of high-quality chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and specialty ingredients, delivering turnkey sourcing solutions and supporting customers worldwide.

The role involves developing effective sourcing strategies, identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating competitive commercial terms, and ensuring the timely availability of high-quality pharmaceutical products. You will work closely with Sales, Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal teams to meet client requirements and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for APIs, pharmaceutical intermediates, and active ingredients.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, pricing, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and commercial conditions with suppliers to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential pharmaceutical suppliers and vendors.
- Coordinate with Sales, Logistics, Regulatory Affairs, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely product delivery as per client requirements.
- Manage product costing, pricing, and commercial offers for clients.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify opportunities for cost optimization and strategic sourcing.
- Ensure sourced products meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on pharmaceutical market trends, supplier developments, and EU regulations.
- Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows,



and business events to identify potential suppliers, vendors, and clients.
- Manage multiple sourcing projects and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
- Lead, guide, and support the sourcing team to achieve business objectives.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong experience in Pharmaceutical Sourcing / Procurement.
- Hands-on experience in sourcing APIs, pharmaceutical intermediates, active ingredients, or pharmaceutical raw materials.
- Strong supplier identification, evaluation, and vendor management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost optimization.
- Valuable understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of EU pharmaceutical regulations will be an added advantage.
- Strong commercial costing and pricing understanding.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant sourcing/procurement tools.

Education

- Master's Degree in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

- 7+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Prior experience in API, pharmaceutical intermediate, active ingredient, or raw material sourcing is preferred.
- Experience working with international suppliers / export markets will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of EU pharmaceutical regulations is desirable.
