Role Description The Headmistress role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gangtok. The Headmistress will oversee daily school operations, ensure a safe and nurturing learning workplace, and lead educators in implementing the preschool's child-centered curriculum. Responsibilities include supervising teaching staff, guiding lesson planning, monitoring classroom practices, and maintaining high standards of pedagogy and discipline. The role involves regular communication with families, coordination of school events and activities, and collaboration with management to meet academic and administrative objectives.



The Headmistress will also support admissions processes, compliance with policies, and continuous improvement of educational outcomes.
Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Education and Pedagogy, with the ability to apply child-centered teaching practices in early childhood settings.
- Proven experience in Curriculum Development, including designing, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate learning programs.
- Demonstrated Educational Leadership skills, with experience managing teaching staff, guiding teams, and leading school initiatives.
- Excellent Communication skills for interacting with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders in a clear and collaborative manner.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field; specialized training in early childhood education is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a preschool or primary school leadership role, ideally in a similar organizational or cultural context.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities, with a focus on learner safety, well-being, and holistic development.
- Ability to work on-site in Gangtok and engage actively with the school community on a daily basis.
