About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer – Piping with extensive experience in piping engineering and design for Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), and other process industry projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading piping design activities, ensuring technical accuracy, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project execution from concept through detailed engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) received from process and proposal teams to develop effective piping design solutions.

- Lead the preparation and review of piping layouts, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, isometric drawings, and piping support drawings.

- Perform piping routing and layout planning while considering operability, maintainability, safety requirements, and project constraints.

- Develop and review piping specifications, valve schedules, valve datasheets, and related engineering documentation.

- Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering deliverables.

- Review and validate 3D plant models and piping designs developed by internal design teams or external consultants.

- Ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, statutory requirements, and applicable industry codes.

- Prepare and review Bills of Materials (BOM) for piping systems and support procurement activities when required.





- Provide technical guidance for equipment layout optimization and piping integration within water and wastewater treatment facilities.

- Support project execution teams by resolving design-related issues and providing technical assistance during installation and commissioning stages.

- Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical reviews to ensure design intent is accurately implemented.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 7–8 years of hands-on experience in piping engineering and design within Water & Wastewater Treatment, EPC, or Process Plant projects.

- Strong understanding of piping engineering principles, codes, standards, and best practices.

- Proven experience in piping layout development, equipment integration, and multidisciplinary coordination.

- Ability to interpret and work with P&IDs;, process flow diagrams, and engineering specifications.

- Knowledge of piping materials, valves, fittings, and associated components used in process and water treatment facilities.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical coordination skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Technical Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Pro-Pipe, or similar piping design software.

- Experience in reviewing and coordinating 3D plant models.

- Working knowledge of engineering documentation, material take-offs, and piping support systems.

- Good command of MS Office applications for reporting and documentation.
