About the Role
- WSP India is seeking a highly accomplished and motivated Environmental Acoustics Consultant to join our Earth & Environment (E&E;) business, based in Bengaluru/Noida, India. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our South Africa-based Environment team, contributing to prestigious, high-profile projects across the E&E; sector.

What We Do
- The role will be an Environmental Acoustics Consultant working on projects within South Africa and internationally, with a focus on baseline data analysis, acoustic inventory compilations and acoustic modelling.
- The role will also require good reporting skills for the compilation of monitoring reports and Environmental Acoustic Impact Assessments. It is noted that the role is primarily for environmental acoustics for basic impact assessments and not for detailed building acoustics type of work.
- WSP Africa also runs projects outside of South Africa, presenting access to a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities
As a Consultant - Environmental Acoustics, you will:
- Serve as a core member of the ZA GCC India E&E; team, delivering strategic support from India to develop and deliver projects through various stages.
- Conduct data analysis of baseline acoustic monitoring data.
- Compile acoustic inventories.
- Conduct environmental acoustic modelling (CadnaA and attenuation-over-distance acoustic calcs).
- Compile Environmental Acoustic Impact Assessments.
- Process and format ambient monitoring data and compilation of ad hoc monitoring reports.
- Assist with compilation of environmental acoustic proposals as and when needed.
- Act as a SHEQ role model, behaving consistently within the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies.
- Contribute to the identification of SHEQ risks and drive processes to achieve Zero Harm.
- Embrace, display and promote company values, ensuring a secure working environment is maintained at all times.
MANDATORY SKILLS
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of environmental acoustics and international legislation (e.g., WHO or IFC).
- Technical report writing skills to produce professional reports in fluent English.
- Technical skills to manage, verify and analyze data.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in acoustic modelling.
- A relevant degree (ideally at Master’s level), equivalent qualification in Acoustics.
- Acoustic inventory compilation, basic attenuation-over-distance calculations and acoustic modelling in CadnaA.
- Demonstrable project management experience at an introductory level.
Background Verification (BGV)
- Employment with WSP India is contingent upon the successful completion of a Background Verification (BGV) process conducted by a third-party agency authorized by WSP India.
