JD - Assistant Manager – PPC
Role
Summary:
Production Planner leads production planning
strategy, oversees capacity and model mix planning, optimizes assembly line
utilization, and drives cross -functional alignment with supply chain,
manufacturing, engineering, and quality. They implement planning systems, lead
recovery plans, support recent model introduction, and ensure continuous
improvement in delivery performance, inventory control, and overall operational
efficiency.
Responsible to manage end -to -end planning of the assembly process by
aligning demand forecasts with line capacity, sequencing vehicle models, and
scheduling shop operations. They ensure Just -In -Time and Just -In -Sequence
delivery of components, oversee MRP and BOM accuracy, track daily production
attainment, and lead actions to recover disruptions. The role requires strong
understanding of assembly line logistics, takt control, Kanban systems, and
coordination with SCM.
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the
job
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and
monthly production plans for the vehicle assembly line.
- Ensure timely availability of components
through coordination with supply chain, logistics, procurement, and
supplier teams.
- Monitor and control production schedules
to meet takt time, delivery targets, and customer demand.
- Manage BOM accuracy and conduct MRP
analysis to ensure correct material planning.
- Coordinate Just -In -Time (JIT) and
Just -In -Sequence (JIS)
material flow to the assembly line.
- Review and adjust model mix and
sequencing to maximize line efficiency.
- Track shop performance KPIs (line
stoppages, attainment, productivity, inventory levels) and drive
corrective actions.
- Identify production bottlenecks and
support process improvements through lean manufacturing tools.
- Collaborate with MP&L;, Stores, Sub
Assembly and Vehicle Assembly teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and
monitor WIP to avoid shortages or excess.
- Support change management for new model
launches, engineering changes, and capacity alterations.
- Lead daily production review meetings
and communicate plans, issues, and recovery actions.
- Prepare reports on
production adherence, resource utilization, and schedule accuracy.
Requirements
Experience
5 -8 years
Industry Preferred
EV / Automotive / Auto Ancillary
Qualifications
B.E/B. Tech –Mechanical/Automobile
General Requirements
- ERP /
SAP Skills – MRP Process, BOM Structures, Inventory Management, Managing
MOQ, ROL and Safety stock
- Proactively
identifying & resolving supply -related problems
- Preferred to have PPC
Experience in Vehicle assembly units
