Job Description Test Team Lead (Automation Testing)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Test Team Lead to lead our Quality Assurance function and drive the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, test strategy, automation framework development, and team leadership. You will be responsible for leading a team of QA engineers, defining testing standards, implementing automation best practices, and ensuring software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Business Analysts to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manual and automation test engineers.
- Define and implement the overall QA strategy, testing processes, and quality standards.
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize automated test frameworks and reusable test scripts.
- Review and improve automation coverage across web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Plan, estimate, assign, and monitor testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and define comprehensive test scenarios.
- Review test cases, automation scripts, and defect reports to ensure quality and consistency.
- Execute and oversee functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Coordinate release testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Track defects, perform root cause analysis, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
- Monitor QA metrics, test coverage, defect leakage, and release quality, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by adopting new tools, technologies, and QA best practices.
- Prepare and maintain QA documentation, including test strategies, test plans, test cases, automation standards, and release reports.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.




- 5–8 years of experience in Software Testing, including at least 2 years in a team leadership role.
- Strong experience in Automation Testing using frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
- Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum development.
- Experience writing and maintaining reusable automation test scripts.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of defect lifecycle management and bug tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git-based version control workflows.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Knowledge of security testing fundamentals and common application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based testing environments.
- Familiarity with SQL and database validation testing.
- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
- Exposure to Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
- ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification is an advantage.
- Experience working in enterprise Agile environments.

Compensation:
