Role & responsibilities
1. Financial and Contract Analysis
- Track Issue Fee and amortisation recoveries across customer contracts and highlight under-recovery or revenue leakage.
- Maintain a proactive contract performance tracker covering expiry, renewal, pricing revision, investment recovery and commercial exceptions.
- Prepare customer-wise and project-wise Budget vs Actual analysis and identify material cost or billing variances.
- Support Business Development and Operations with fact-based inputs for customer discussions and corrective action.
2. Customer and Operational Performance
- Analyse cycle time, fulfilment, demand, shortages, asset availability and operational outliers.
- Highlight the relationship between customer demand, shortages and service performance instead of reporting each measure separately.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly customer review presentations with clear exceptions, causes, owners and actions.
- Develop stock-audit and asset-reconciliation analysis for selected locations and customers.
3. MIS, Forecasting and Project Controls
- Maintain revenue and cost projection sheets and improve forecast accuracy.
- Prepare and publish agreed daily, weekly and monthly MIS and management review reports on time.
- Support project setup and closure by checking commercial data, master data, billing logic and documentation.
- Maintain clean, traceable data and resolve mismatches with Operations, Finance, Business Development and IT.
4. Automation, Analytics and Team Development
- Automate recurring work, especially Budget vs Actual analysis, cycle-time analysis, PO tracking, MIS and monthly-review presentations.
- Use Excel, Power Query, Power BI, SQL, Python or AI tools where they produce a practical and maintainable improvement.
- Develop predictive or early-warning analysis where sufficient data is available.
- Document data sources, formulas, logic and processes so that knowledge does not remain with one person.
- Guide and review the work of the other Business Analyst, including regular mentoring and transfer of business context.
Preferred candidate profile
Key Deliverables in the First 90 Days
- Take ownership of the current recovery, contract-performance, projection and MIS trackers.
- Map existing reports, data sources and recurring deadlines; document gaps and dependencies.
- Stabilise the monthly management and customer-review reporting cycle.
- Agree a mentoring and work-review rhythm with the existing Business Analyst.
- Complete at least one practical automation or reporting improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas and data cleaning; Power Query or Power Pivot is desirable.
- Ability to analyse financial and operational data and explain exceptions in simple business language.
- Good PowerPoint and management-reporting skills.
- Working knowledge of Power BI or another dashboard tool.
- SQL or Python exposure is useful but not mandatory if the candidate can learn and apply tools quickly.
- Comfort working with multiple teams and following up until data or actions are closed.
Education and Experience
- Graduate in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Administration or a related field.
- 37 years of relevant experience in business analysis, MIS, commercial analysis, operations analytics or business intelligence.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, automotive or service operations is preferred.
- MBA is useful but not essential.
