Role & responsibilities

- Lead shift maintenance of dumpers, tippers, water tankers, buses, ambulances, cranes and light vehicles.
- Attend field breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis and restore vehicles to service in the shortest possible time.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance, servicing, greasing and oil changes as per OEM norms.
- Manage tyre life rotation, retreading, pressure monitoring and tyre cost per kilometre / per tonne.
- Control fuel consumption, monitor KMPL/HMPL norms and investigate abnormal consumption.
- Maintain job cards, equipment history, breakdown analysis and shift handover reports.
- Supervise contract mechanics, helpers and OEM service engineers deployed in the shift.
- Ensure vehicle statutory compliance — fitness, insurance, permits, PUC — and adherence to safety, work permit and LOTO procedures.

Preferred candidate profile

- Hands-on field and workshop experience with heavy commercial vehicles and mining dumpers.
- Familiarity with OEM platforms such as Tata, Ashok Leyland, BEML, Volvo, Scania, Komatsu and Caterpillar.
- Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and auto-electrical circuits and use diagnostic tools.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts at the mine site.
