Job Title: MEP Engineer

Department: Projects / Construction
Reporting To: Project Manager

Job Summary

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities for residential construction projects. The role involves ensuring quality execution, adherence to timelines, compliance with safety standards, and coordination with internal teams and external consultants/vendors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Coordination

- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems in residential projects.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors for smooth execution.
- Review MEP drawings and ensure alignment with project specifications and site conditions.

2. Design & Technical Review

- Review and validate MEP designs, layouts, and BOQs.
- Identify design discrepancies and provide technical solutions.
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant codes and standards (NBC, local authority norms, BESCOM/TNEB, BWSSB/CMWSSB, etc.).

3. Vendor & Contractor Management

- Monitor and manage MEP contractors and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure quality workmanship.
- Verify and certify contractor bills based on work progress.

4. Quality Assurance & Safety

- Ensure all MEP works are executed as per approved drawings and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of execution.




- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory regulations.

5. Planning & Monitoring

- Prepare and track MEP work schedules in line with project timelines.
- Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain daily/weekly progress reports.

6. Testing & Commissioning

- Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical, HVAC, fire-fighting, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure proper documentation, checklists, and handover procedures are followed.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain records of drawings, approvals, site instructions, and material submittals.
- Prepare MIS reports and update stakeholders on project progress.

- Electrical Systems (HT/LT panels, DG sets, lighting, earthing, etc.)
- Plumbing & Sanitary Systems
- Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm Systems
- HVAC / Ventilation Systems
- STP/WTP and Water Management Systems

Qualifications & Experience

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 38 years in residential construction projects

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and residential project execution
- Familiarity with local statutory approvals and authority regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic project management tools
- Positive coordination and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
