EXECUTIVE - LOGISTICS

JOB SUMMARY

Logistics plays a key role in coordinating, communicating with internal & external customer to drive

delivery of products efficiently, economically & safely to customer & improve customer satisfaction.

Main function would be to coordinate with entire supply chain within the plant, i.e. starting Sales to

Shipment including Warehousing, for domestic & exports shipments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Accountable for logistics activities of all products (of any business units) manufactured against firm

customer orders.

* Work closely with all departments, (as need be) to ensure the right product is delivered at right time

& at right place & at a right price. This includes communicating with customer or distributor or any

agency,

* Design & selection of appropriate packing material & raise material requirement for all packing

material keeping right inventory all the time.

* Optimise the material handling activities & ensure safe storage until the goods are shipped.

* Responsible for selecting the best mode of transport & negotiating the rates for each shipments.

* Highly focussed on controlling the cost of shipment, may be by better design of packing material,

method & drive economical approach.

* Work for developing team culture & excellent customer relationship by collaborating with them and

understanding their needs.

* Work strictly in line with SOPs, ISO guidelines, HSEQ guidelines & adhere to right processes

REQUIREMENTS

* Enough exposure to Logistics activities of Engg industries.

* Strong team contributor and ability to work in Multi National team.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of

the organization.

* Must be able to work directly with skilled to unskilled workers on shop floor.

4.1 Physical and psychological demands

4.2 Travel

* The job involves very little travelling within India

5. QUALIFICATIONS

5.1. Essential

* Commerce graduate or diploma in engineering.

* 3 to 5 years experience in logistics activities of handling complex, highly engineered products.

* MUST have knowledge of Incoterms, prevailing Rules & regulations for domestic & exports

shipments & documentation thereof.

* Ability to communicate effectively in English

5.2 Preferred

* Knowledge of working in SAP environment.

* Costing of freight charges, lead rate contracts & formalities of insurance & claims.
