Job Purpose

To manage daily stores operations for the R&D; plant, ensuring safe storage, inventory accuracy, timely material issuance, SAP transactions, stock transfers, and scrap movement management. The role is responsible for uninterrupted supply of chemicals, mechanical items, spare parts, consumables, equipment, and other materials required for R&D; activities while strictly adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

Stores & Inventory Management

- Manage end-to-end stores operations for the R&D; facility.
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock availability.
- Monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities.
- Perform periodic stock verification and cycle counting.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

SAP Operations

- Execute Goods Issue (GI) transactions in SAP as per daily plant requirements.
- Perform Stock Transfer Order (STO) processing and stock transfer transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate SAP postings for material movements.
- Maintain inventory accuracy between physical stock and SAP records.
- Support material master and inventory-related data maintenance.

Material Handling

- Issue chemicals, raw materials, mechanical components, spares, consumables, tools, and equipment to R&D; users.
- Ensure timely supply of required materials without impacting R&D; activities.
- Manage storage and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.

Chemical Stores Management

- Handle storage and issue of chemicals in compliance with safety requirements.
- Ensure proper segregation, labeling, and storage conditions for chemicals.
- Maintain chemical inventory and associated records.




- Support safe handling practices and emergency preparedness requirements.

Scrap & Logistics Coordination

- Manage scrap collection, segregation, storage, and dispatch activities.
- Coordinate scrap transportation and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements for scrap disposal.
- Maintain scrap inventory and movement records.

Safety & Compliance

- Demonstrate safety leadership and ensure 100% compliance with EHS requirements.
- Follow safe material handling practices, especially for chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure protected housekeeping and storage conditions.
- Report unsafe conditions and participate in corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, EHS, and company standards.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain all inventory, material movement, and stores-related records.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Support audits and provide required documentation.
- Track and report inventory accuracy and stock availability metrics.

Preferred candidate profile

- Experience in Battery Manufacturing, Chemical Industry, Materials Industry, or Engineering Manufacturing.
- Exposure to R&D; stores operations.
- Experience in handling chemicals, consumables, spares, and equipment inventory.
- Knowledge of hazardous material storage and handling requirements.

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience in SAP Inventory Management (IM) and Material Management (MM).
- Knowledge of Goods Issue (GI), Goods Receipt (GR), and Stock Transfer Orders (STO).
- Understanding of warehouse and inventory control practices.
- Experience handling chemical stores and industrial materials.
- Knowledge of inventory reconciliation and stock verification.
