Job Description:
1. Execute simultaneous engineering activities specifically for passenger car assembly lines. 2. Provide critical product design feedback and conduct Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses to identify potential failure modes related to VNH (Vibration, Noise, Harshness), BSR (Buzz, Squeak, Rattle), and water ingress paths. 3. Analyze and validate mounting and locating schemes, adhering to the 3-2-1 principle, for all trim fitment and chassis components. 4. Manage and facilitate data exchange and communication between the Engineering Research Centre (ERC) and external suppliers. 5. Develop and implement process maps, actively participating in proto build phases to refine manufacturing sequences. 6. Collaborate closely with design and product teams during initial vehicle builds to define and optimize process sequences. 7. Oversee Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation and conduct process simulations to validate changes. 8. Facilitate project and process feedback loops between various internal and external stakeholders. 9. Prepare and maintain essential manufacturing documentation, including process sheets, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Control Plans. 10. Contribute to digital build processes and the creation of Process Bills of Material (BOM).
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in an automotive manufacturing or engineering environment. - Proficiency in simultaneous engineering principles for passenger car assembly. - Demonstrated ability to provide design feedback and conduct DFA analyses for quality and performance. - Strong understanding of mounting and locating schemes (3-2-1 principle). - Experience with data management and supplier coordination. - Knowledge of process mapping and participation in proto build activities. - Familiarity with ECN implementation and process simulation tools. - Experience in documenting process sheets, PFMEA, and Control Plans. - Understanding of Digital Build and Process BOM creation. - Basic knowledge of DMU (Digital Mock-up) and tool selection/feasibility checking. - Foundational knowledge of Industrial Engineering concepts, including Time Study and Method Study. - Solid command of 2D CAD software and practical experience in line and process layout, along with lineside presentation. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills for stakeholder engagement.
