Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop BIW components for Upper Body, Under Body, and Closure systems using CATIA V5.
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
- Develop sheet metal parts and assemblies based on OEM design standards.
- Ensure designs meet manufacturing, stamping, welding, and assembly requirements.
- Perform packaging studies, tolerance analysis, and feasibility reviews.
- Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, tooling, and supplier teams during product development.
- Support design reviews and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
- Prepare engineering documentation including BOM, DFMEA, GD&T;, and release documents.
- Resolve design issues during prototype and production stages.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Required Skills

- Solid experience in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, Drafting).
- Experience in BIW design for Upper Body, Under Body, or Closures.




- Knowledge of automotive sheet metal design principles.
- Good understanding of BIW manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, hemming, and assembly.
- Familiarity with GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA.
- Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter, ENOVIA, or Windchill.
- Knowledge of OEM standards and automotive development processes.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- 28 years of experience in automotive BIW design.
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and engineering change management is an advantage.
