German Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven German Operations Manager to oversee, scale, and optimize our daily operations.

In this role, you will lead localized operational strategies, manage cross-functional teams, ensure strict adherence to local regulatory and compliance standards, and continuously improve processes to drive efficiency, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate possesses native or business-fluent German (C2), strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the German business landscape.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Execution
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless delivery of products/services across German-speaking markets.
Develop, implement, and standardise Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) tailored to German regulatory and market requirements.
Analyze operational metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement Lean/Six Sigma principles to drive continuous process improvements.

2. Team Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of operational specialists, team leads, and support staff.

Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a high-performance, team-oriented team culture.
Handle localized recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention initiatives in alignment with German labor standards.

3. Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance
Ensure all operations comply with German/EU labor laws, GDPR, health and safety standards, and industry-specific regulations.
Collaborate with legal, finance,



and HR teams to mitigate operational, financial, and legal risks.
Establish quality assurance frameworks to maintain high service levels and product standards.

4. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Act as the primary operational liaison for key local vendors, service providers, and strategic partners in the DACH region.
Negotiate contracts, manage SLA compliance, and optimize vendor costs.
Maintain strong alignment between the German operational team and global headquarters/leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements
Language Skills: Native or full professional fluency in German (C1/C2 level) and English (C1/C2 level)both written and spoken.
Experience: 5+ years of operational management experience, with at least 3 years+ managing teams within the German market.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of German business culture, labor laws, GDPR, and localized consumer expectations.
Data-Driven Mindset: Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using operational analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Jira).
Leadership: Proven track record of leading, coaching, and scaling cross-functional or cross-border teams.

Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, a related field (Masters or MBA preferred).

Experience working within a fast-paced technology, e-commerce, logistics
